The Flower House is one of the two finalists of a competition being managed by The Mall in Southampton. We are delighted to have won two weeks all expenses paid retail space in The Mall (previously the Marlands). We will be taking up position for our two week slot from March 29th. Why not come along and see what we are currently offering.

The Flower House was asked by the Fareham and Southampton Chamber of Commerce to contribute to their Young Chamber initiative by presenting to students of Regents Park Community CollegeThe event flower wise took a slightly different direction than planned. Originally I had planned to just show the students how to make a flower arrangement which would then be raffled off. However thanks to a contribution of quite a few flowers by J Van Vleit (Flower Wholesaler) the day before we were able to let the students make their own individual button hole/corsage. The remaining flowers were made into two arrangements for raffle prizes among the staff and then three small bouquets for raffling among students all in aid of Haiti. The day went well with students and teachers all saying they had a good time and a few students have even expressed a keen interest to join the floristry trade.

Whiteley Art Society was formed in 2006 with the aim to inspire and encourage people in the local area to paint and draw. We meet on the second Monday of the month at Whiteley Primary School from 7.00pm - 9.00pm. The meetings include demonstrations from profesional artist and paint a long evenings. Each October we hold our annual exhibition at the Whiteley Community Centre. If you would like more information about the Whiteley Art Society please contact Helen Brown on 01489 583968.
